Olivier came to us after two years of learning French in school, but without any real knowledge. Even conjugating basic verbs was an insurmountable challenge, let alone holding a conversation. However, he had the most important thing – the desire to learn.
The key for Olivier was turning his strong desire to learn into action. The first few months of lessons focused on showing various ways to learn languages in a pleasant and effective manner. At the same time, Maciej developed a very friendly relationship with Olivier – they watched French YouTube videos together and played games. Step by step, more and more French conversations and grammatical constructions were introduced in the lessons. In a very natural way, Olivier started asking questions and reading texts in French. From that moment, covering the school material progressed rapidly.
After a year of studying together, we successfully covered significantly more grammatical topics than the school curriculum required. Moreover, Olivier was able to use them effectively in speech.
After two years of learning, the school curriculum was far behind. Olivier took the GCSE mock exams in French and achieved indisputably the best results among all the students at Birmingham Bishop Challoner College – 30/30 in speaking, 20/23 in listening, 23/25 in reading, and 29/30 in writing.
